  ANTI-INDIAN ESTABLISHMENT: No Indians should spend even one dollar at this business. Story below.
  
  My husband and I travel across the country full-time and have business a few times a year in El Paso. So while he was working today, I popped into this spot to get my eyebrows done since it’s close to where we are staying. There were no reviews on Yelp but I figured it would be fine since it is located inside a mall.
  
  There was only 1 person working and I had to wait maybe 2 minutes. No problem. I wanted my eyebrows done ($12 charge) and that’s it. While the threading lady was doing my eyebrows, she asked if I wanted my upper lip done. No thanks, I replied.
  
  Then she persisted, and I said no that’s fine, it’s not something my husband or I are bothered by. Then she asked me if I was Indian, and I said yes, hoping to shut her up so she can just finish my eyebrows.
  
  So we finish, and I go up to pay. I use my card, and her card machine requires dial up. I had already entered the charge plus a $2 tip since the eyebrows were fine, but she kept talking about the hair on my face.
  
  There were 2 customers waiting, no one else in the store except for her, and since the transaction is basically over, why is she continuing about facial hair issues that are not a priority for me?
  
  As the machine was printing the receipt for my signature, the threading lady said “Indians seem to not care about their appearance.”
  
  She was wearing a head scarf, so I’m assuming she is Muslim. She was fair skinned but clearly south asian, but that remark could not possibly come from another Indian person.
  
  Indian people, please avoid this establishment. I have come to expect the abuse female customers get at desi beauty parlors, where the threading people use shame to upsell. I can excuse that - everyone wants to make an extra buck. But saying this was because I am Indian or somehow my actions represent the sentiments of over a billion people was beyond unacceptable.
  
  My husband (who is white, btw, and does not sit around examining my facial hair) and I travel the country via motorhome full-time and this is the MOST OVERT RACISM I have ever experienced. And I have been in KKK land!!
